Baby Ear-flap Hat

Now weather is change, summer is going to off and cold will start gradually. Change of weather effect of our life style because hot weather need normal clothes but cold weather need a lot of things to save our body from cold that why in cold weather we always prefer  hot sweater, woolen hats, socks and etc.

Children are always important then us because children is gift of Allah, So we always care of them. Climate impact kids more rather than grown-up in light of the fact that children are delicate and soft. To improve their beautiful face and look they need beautiful and charming sweaters,  hats, socks and etc.

I made a lot of things in previous season but I have not to share you about those patterns due to no source of uploading patterns. According to the cold season I made a hat that is called ear flap hat.

I already mentioned that I have not proper education in this crochet field. My mother learns me in a home where there are no diagrams or any pattern guides. I learned little bit from internet to convert my home skill into proper language. So my little try to make this pattern for you and discuss about them.

it is starting in the middle and crocheting around and around when we make the desire gauge then we stop the increasing and starting the pattern around i added only a single crochet stitch .this is an easy stitch to add in Avery baby items,the ear flap hat is look like very cute and warm for the small babies. It’s making to easy like a normal hat. The way of this hat is first you will make it like a normal hat then make the ear flaps in both sides. Here is the pattern, if anyone don’t understand then ask me. I must solve your problem.i made many of the design for the babies like booties, cardigan, blanket, baby socks, and many more.

Two different color worsted yarn 4 ply (61 - 20 = 4 inch

Crochet hook 3 mm

Crochet needle

one scissor

size:    6-12 month

PATTERN:

Rnd 1:     make a circle. Ch 3, 11 dc into the circle. Join to first dc with a sl st. (12 dc)
Rnd 2:    Ch 3,dc in same st, 2 dc in each stitch around, join with sl st to first dc in
                 round. (24 dc)
Rnd 3:    Ch 3, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in next st,2 dc in next st, repeat (dc, 2 dc in 
                next st) around,join with sl st to first dc in round. (36 dc)
Rnd 4:    Ch 3, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat (1 dc in 2 sts, 
                2dc in next st) around,join with sl st to first dc in round. (48 dc)
Rnd 5:    Ch 3,1dc in same st, 1 dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat (1 dc in 3 sts, 
                2dc in next st) around, join with sl st to first dc in round. (60 dc)

Rnd6:    Ch 3,1dc in same st, 1dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat (1 dc in 4 sts, 
               2dc in next st) around, join with sl st to first dc in round. (72 dc)

Work:

join the next color:
Rnd 7:        ch 1, skip st, ch 1, 1 sc into the next st, repeat (1 sc, skip st, ch1, 1sc) 
                    around, Join with sl st to first ch in round.

change the main color:
Rnd 8-19:    sc in ch space, ch1, sc in next ch space, repeat (sc, ch1, sc) around, join 
                      with slst to first sc in round.

 Note:    after completing a round change the next color:

Rnd 20-21 : ch 1,1 hdc in each st around.

Make the ear-flap:

row1.     1 hdc into the 14sts, turn.
row2.     skip 1st st,1 hdc into 12 sts,turn,(12sts)
row3.     skip 1st st,1 hdc into 10 sts,turn. (10sts) 
row4.     skip 1st st,1 hdc into 8 sts,turn. (8sts) 
row5.     skip 1st st,1 hdc into 6 sts,turn.(6sts)
row6.     skip 1st st,1 hdc into 4 sts, turn. (4sts)

make the 2nd flap to the same pattern. 
change the next color:
row7:   1 sc in each st around the hat. fasten off weave in end

Finishing:     cut the  8 pieces of yarn into  the desire length,and make braids 
into the ear flap, pull tight into the center of the flap ,make a small pom pom and 
sew on to the top of hat.
