Hello every one! Today we bring and share my new baby Coat cardigan sweater. This adorable and stylish design made for little girls 2-3 years. It’s a very special gift for cute and lovely little girls for chilly and cold season. Instructions:  We made this crochet baby cardigan coat/jacket for 2-3 years. We adding two of the colors in this sweater, you also add more colors in your own choice. We used Dk Weight #3 yarn with 4mm(G/6)  crochet hook for this cardigan jacket. Size of the length we mention in the below description. This baby Cardigan coat with sleeves is crocheted form the neck line top to down, it’s very easy to start used a simple double crochet, v -stitch  and shell. for large size repeat some of the increasing rounds, we mention below about all sizes,  if you need a smaller size so, you can follow my crochet ideas we mention below. We added in new and different design in the skirt, for more help watch my video instructions.

0-3 months chains 40, hook size 3.5mm (E) 3Ply Dk Yarn

3-6 months chains 44, hook size 3.5mm (E) 3ply Dk Yarn

6-12 months chains 46, hook size 3.5mm (E) 3ply Dk Yarn

 12-24 months chains 50, hook size 3.5mm (E) 3ply Dk Yarn

 2-3 Years chains 50, hook size 4mm (G) 3ply Dk Yarn

2-3 Years chains 50, hook size 4mm (G) #3 Dk Yarn(4 dc x 2 Rows= 1 inch

Item to be need:

(Baby DK Weight Acrylic yarn #3 yarn (4dc X 2 Rows = 1 inch)

 Crochet hook size 4mm (G/6) hook

 Size:      2-3 years Baby Girls

Gauge:  4dc x 2 rows = 1 inch

 Pattern for gauge:  

Length from shoulder =14-15 inches

Chest size =24 inches

 Special stitch:

1.       Do stitch marker corner of chest (division of sleeves)

2.       Ch1 does not count

3.  Check out the size of chest then working for skirt, repeat more rounds for long sweater

      if you will like.

 Baby Coat Jacket Free pattern:

Make chains 50, turn work.

Round1- 1 hdc into 3rd ch, make 1 hdc in each ch across to end, turn work. (49)

Round2- ch1 does not count, make dc into same st, 1 dc in next 2 sts, *2dc into next st,

1 dc in each next 3 sts*, Repeat from * to * across to end, turn work. (60)

Round3- ch1 does not count, make dc into same st, 1 dc in next 3 sts, *2dc into next st,

1 dc in each next 4 sts*, Repeat from * to * across to end, turn work. (71)

Round4- ch1 does not count, make dc into same st, 1 dc in next 4 sts, *2dc into next st,

1 dc in each next 5 sts*, Repeat from * to * across to end, turn work. (82)

Round5- ch1 does not count, make dc into same st, 1 dc in next 5 sts, *2dc into next st,

1 dc in each next 6 sts*, Repeat from * to * across to end, turn work. (93)

Round8- ch3 we count dc, skip 2 sts,* make v-st (1dc, ch2, 1dc) into next st, skip next

2 sts*, Repeat from * to * across to end, make 1 dc into last st, turn work. (38 v- sts)

Round9- ch3 we count dc, * make (FP into dc of v –st, 3dc into v-st space, Fp into next  dc

Of v-st), ch1*, Repeat from * to * across to end, make 1 dc into last st, turn work.

Round10- ch3 we count dc,* make v-st(1dc, ch2, 1dc) into middle st of shell, ch1*,

Repeat from * to * across to end, make 1 dc into last st, turn work.

Now we are going to divide v-sts for sleeves.

6 v-st for 1st front, 7 v-st for sleeve, 12 v-sts for back side, 7 v-st for 2nd sleeve, 6 v-st for 2nd front.

Round11- ch3 we count dc, , * make (FP into dc of v –st, 3dc into v-st space, Fp into next  dc

Of v-st), ch1*, Repeat from * to * across into 6 v-st for 1st front, skip next 7 v –sts for sleeve,

Then Repeat from * to * across into 12 v-sts for back side, skip next 7 v-sts for 2nd sleeve,

Then Repeat from * to * across into 6 v-sts for 2nd front, make 1 dc into last st, turn work.(24 shell)

Round12- ch3 we count dc,* make v-st(1dc, ch2, 1dc) into middle st of shell, ch1*,

Repeat from * to * across to end, make 1 dc into last st, turn work.(24)

Round13- ch3 we count dc, * make (FP into dc of v –st, 3dc into v-st space, Fp into next dc

Of v-st), ch1*, Repeat from * to * across to end, make 1 dc into last st, turn work.

Round14- do and follow the same work as we done in Round12.

Round15- do and follow the same work as we done in Round 13.

Round16- do and follow the same work as we done in Round12.

Round17-  do and follow the same work as we done in Round 13.

Change color B:

Round18-23- do and follow the same work as we done in Round 12 and Round13.

Change color A:

Round24-25- do and follow the same work as we done in Round 12 and Round13.

Fasten off

Make sleeves:

Round1- join yarn into middle of under arm, ch3, * make (FP into dc of v –st, 3dc into v-st

 space, Fp into next dc of v-st), ch1*, Repeat from * to * across into 7 v-sts for sleeve,

do sl st to join into 3rd ch, turn work.

Round2- ch3, ,* make v-st(1dc, ch2, 1dc) into middle st of shell, ch1*,Repeat from * to * across

Into 7 shells of sleeves, do sl st into 3rd ch, turn work.

Round3- ch3 we count dc, * make (FP into dc of v –st, 3dc into v-st space, Fp into next dc of v-st),

ch1*, Repeat from * to * across into 7 v-sts of sleeves, do sl st to join into 3rd ch. Turn work.

Round4-9- do and follow the same work as we done in(Round2-Round3).

Change color B:

Round10-13- do and follow the same work as we done in (Round2-Round3).  

Fasten off

Make cuff of sleeves:

Change color A:

Round1- ch1, make sc in each 29 sts around the cuff of sleeve, do sl st into 1 st sc. (29)

Round2-4- ch1, make 1 sc in each st around the cuff of sleeve, do sl st into 1st st.(29)

Fasten off

Make front button bands:

Work- start work into wrong side of jacket bottom corner st to join yarn, ch1, make 2 hdc into

Ch-space, continue make 2 hdc in each ch space across into border edging of front band,

Turn work. (46 hdc)

Round2 of front band: ch1, make 1 hdc into same st, 1 hdc in each st across to end,(46 hdc).

Fasten off and sew buttons on front band.

  1. There is no buttonhole band mentioned on this cardigan. Otherwise comes out even better than the picture.
