Ladies & Gents Crochet Hat/ Beautiful Spiral Crocheted Hat Tutorial

today topic is my latest crochet pattern for adult ladies and gents spiral hat, start with rib band and continue from bottom to top. very easy pattern we explain in details for all sizes.

we have pattern for ladies shawl in my previous post. we always created pattern for ladies and girls like cardigan jacket/ shawls/ scarfs and gloves all pattern you will find on the same place/on my web bog page. i hope you would love it and appreciate my new pattern a beautiful crocheted spiral hat. next project will make spiral stitch gloves. i love so much to add spiral stitch on my crochet project.

you can be easily to change sizes as you want to make, we explain below in the pattern for all sizes and also share in my video tutorial. use light DK Weight #3 yarn with 3.5mm(E) hook size. we mention about details in inches about the pattern from start with rib band and continue from bottom to top. you can make it easy for all sizes as you want.

 Items to be need:

Adult Medium size Hat 

70-80 grams #3 Yarn Teal Light DK weight (3ply wool- 5 double crochet = 1 inch)

Crochet hook size: 3.5 mm (E)

 Size:  Ladies and gents 

Gauge:  5 dc x 2.5 row = 1 inch

Medium size Height of Hat: 8-9 inches

circumference of Hat: 18-20 inches/ 46-48 cm

change in other sizes Follow, 

Rib band Sizes: Circumference of Hat.

6-12 months         : Repeat Rounds= 13-14 inches / 34 cm

1-2 years              : Repeat Rounds= 14-15 inches / 36 cm

2-4 years              : Repeat Rounds= 15-16 inches / 38 cm

Toddler                 : Repeat Rounds= 16-18 inches / 40 cm

Adult Small           : Repeat Rounds= 17-18 inches / 44-46 cm

Medium Sizes       : Repeat Rounds= 18-20 inches / 48-50 cm

Large Sizes           : Repeat Rounds= 20-22 inches / 51- 56 cm

 

Height of Hat size chart:

Adult Large:     9 – 9.5 inches

Adult Medium:  8 – 9 inches

Adult Small:      8 – 8.5 inches

Child:                7.5 – 8 inches

Toddler:            7.25 – 7 inches

12-24 months:  6.5 – 7.25 inches

6- 12 months:   6.25 – 6.5 inches

3-6 months:      6 – 6.25 inches

Pattern:

Make chains 20,

Row 1- dc into 4^th ch from the hook, dc in each ch across, turn work.(18 dc)

Row 2- ch1 not count, make dc in each st into back loop 18 sts across, turn work.

(18 dc)

Row 3- 43: Repeat and follow Round2 of Band. (Medium size)

(Small sizes- Row 3 - 41,/ Medium sizes- Row 3 - 43, /  Large sizes- Row 3 - 45) 

Repeat Round 2 until you have 43 Rows or until the Rib Band to fits your

Head circumference.

 For medium size I recommend 18-20 inches /46-48 cm in circumference 

Leave a long tail of yarn and use needle for sewing, Sew and join the Rib band together

starting chains sts with the last round 18 dc sts,

 do slip st in each 18 sts both together, then finish the rib band.

Starting with the Hat Pattern will crochet in rounds.

Adult Medium size hat pattern:

Round1- ch2 don’t count, make dc into same st, make 1 dc in each st around the

Edging of rib band, do slip st to join into beginning dc. (84 stitches)

Adult Small sizes:   80 stitches

Adult Medium sizes: 84 stitches

Adult Large sizes:     92 stitches

Round2- ch2 don’t count, make front post dc into same dc, make 3 dc into middle space of

Front post and next dc, * skip next 3 dc sts, make front post dc around next dc st, make 3 dc

Into middle space of front post and next dc*, repeat from * to * around, do slip st into front post

dc. (84 sts)

Round3- ch2 don’t count, *make front post into front post dc, make 3 dc into middle space

Of same front and next dc, skip next 3 dc sts*, repeat from * to * around, do slip st to join

Into beginning front post. (84 sts)

Round4- 15: Repeat and follow Round 3 of hat.

Fold the rib band in half and check the size of hat

Medium Size include Rib band – 7 inches (18 cm)

Now start decreasing of hat.

Round16- DEC. ch2 don’t count, *make front post into front post dc, make 2 dc into middle

 Space of same front and next dc, skip next 3 dc sts*, repeat from * to * around, do slip st to

 Join into beginning front post.

Round17- DEC- ch2 don’t count, *make front post into front post dc, make 1 dc into middle

 Space of same front and next dc, skip next 2 dc sts*, repeat from * to * around, do slip st to

 Join into beginning front post.

Round18- DEC- ch2 don’t count, *make front post into front post dc, skip next dc st, and make

Front post into next front post dc*, repeat from * to * around, do slip st to Join into beginning

front post.

Round19- ch2 don’t count, make front post 2 together around the hat, then slip st to finish

The hat. Cut the yarn long tail for sewing.

Sewing: use needle for sewing, sew and close the hat top opening, use whip st around.

Pull tight and hide the tail of yarn into wrong side.
