Instructions:  We made new stylish crochet baby hooded cardigan jacket Boys/Girls 2-3 years. you can easily to change the size as you want to make large and small, we explain in details about the sizes 0-3 months /6-12 months more explain adult sizes, explain patterns in my video tutorial below.. We add 2 of the colors in this sweater you can chose any of other colors according to your taste. We used light DK weight wool 4ply with 5mm(H) crochet hook for the project. Size of the jacket we mention below in the pattern. This baby elegant hooded jacket started bottom to top, we add simple stitch for the pattern, it’s very easy to start, so, you can follow my other crochet ideas we mention links. We add a beautiful super easy my favorite pattern at front, explain in details hope you will like it.

changing for Sizes: you can be use small hook size for small sizes.

please notice: that important thing of measurement for ribbing band of jacket before starting, 

you can use any of wool and any of hook size. but we mention about little measurement for the sizes.

0-3 Months: Rib Band Size: Back & Front (36+36 Rounds=72 Rounds = 20 inches/50cm

6-12 Months: Rib Band Size: Back & Front (38+38 Rounds =76 Rounds =  21 inches/54cm

2-3 years: Rib Band Size: Back & Front (42 + 42 Rounds = 84 Rounds=23.5 inches/60cm

Toddler & Small Child : 

1- Child 3-5 years :Rib Band Size: Back & Front (44+ 44 Rounds = 88 Rounds=24.5 inches/62cm

Item to be need:

wool: Color A: 240 Grams DK Weight Acrylic #4 yarn (16-20 = 4 inches)

Color B: 50 grams DK Weight Acrylic #4 yarn (16-20 = 4 inches)

Crochet hook size:  5mm(H) 

Buttons

 Size:      2-3 years old boys /Girls

Gauge:  4 stitches x 3 rows = 1 inch

 Pattern for gauge:  

Jacket Length from shoulder to bottom Band: 14 inches/36 cm 

Jacket chest measurement : 24-25 inches/60-62 cm

 Special stitch:

1.     1-double crochet next st, single crochet next st.

US Terms Abbreviation

·         Ch   chains

·         st     stitch

·         Sc    single crochet

·         Hdc  half double crochet

·         Dc    double crochet

Baby hooded jacket pattern Size 2-3 years:

Make Back and Fronts together:

Color B:

Make chains 7,

Round1- sc into 2^nd ch from the hook, make 1 sc in each ch across, turn work.(6 sc)

Round2- ch1, make 1 sc into back loop in each 6 sts across, turn work.(6 sc)

Round3-84: Repeat and follow the same work as we done in Rib band Round 2.

Make Back and Fronts together: 

Measurement Approx.: 42 Front+ Back = 48 Rounds = 23 inches/29 cm

Now working into band edging:

Wright side facing of jacket,

Round1- ch1, make 1 hdc in each st into Rib band across to end, turn work.(48 hdc)

Wrong side of jacket,

Round2-  ch1, we count st, *make sc into next st, dc into next st*, Repeat from * to *

Across to end, turn work. (48 sts)

Wrong side of jacket,

Round3- make 1 hdc in each st across to end, turn work. (48 hdc)

Round4- Repeat and follow Round2 of jacket.

Change color A:

Round5-20: Repeat and follow the same work as we worked in Round 2 & Round3.

Measurement Approx. include Rib band: 8.5 inches/22 cm

Now divide stitches front, back and shoulders.

Mark 20 sts Front / leave 2 sts for shoulder, mark 40 sts Back/ leave 2 sts 2^nd shoulder,

 mark 20 sts 2^nd front.

Make 1^st Front of Jacket and shoulder:

Round1- make 1 hdc in each 20 sts across, leave next sts then turn work.(20 hdc)

Round2- ch1, we count st, *make sc into next st, dc into next st*, Repeat from * to *

Across to end, turn work. (20 sts)

Round3- make 1 hdc in each 20 sts across, then turn work.(20 hdc)

Round4- 14: Repeat and follow Round2 and Round 3 of front and shoulder. Fasten off

Measurement Approx form shoulder 14 rounds = 5.5 inches/14 cm

Make Back of jacket and shoulder:

Round1- skip/leave 2 sts from the front we worked before, then join yarn into next marked st,

Make ch1 not count, hdc into same st, and then make 1 hdc in each next 39 sts, turn work. 

(40 hdc)

Round2- ch1, we count st, *make sc into next st, dc into next st*, Repeat from * to *

Across to end, turn work. (40 sts)

Round3- make 1 hdc in each 40 sts across, then turn work.(40 hdc)

Round4- 14: Repeat and follow Round2 and Round 3 of Back part and shoulder. 

Fasten off

Measurement Approx. form shoulder 14 rounds = 5.5 inches/14 cm

Make 2nd Front of jacket and shoulder:

Round1- skip/leave 2 sts from the back we worked before, then join yarn into next

 marked st, Make ch1 not count, hdc into same st, and then make 1 hdc in each next 19 sts, 

turn work. (20 hdc)

Round2- ch1, we count st, *make sc into next st, dc into next st*, Repeat from * to *

Across to end, turn work. (20 sts)

Round3- make 1 hdc in each 20 sts across, then turn work.(20 hdc)

Round4- 14: Repeat and follow Round2 and Round 3 of Front and shoulder. Fasten off

Measurement Approx. form shoulder 14 rounds = 5.5 inches/14 cm

Sewing: Sew shoulder seems together, work slip st to join the shudders front to back right 

side facing together. Do slip st in each 10 sts to join the shoulders. For more help watch

Make Hood of jacket:

Round1: Right sides facing to join yarn again into corner of right front, ch1 not count, make 

hdc into Same st, make 1 hdc across into front of jacket neck line, then across back side sts 

of neck line, then across into left front neck line to corner, turn work. (42 hdc)

Round2 - ch1, we count st, *make sc into next st, dc into next st*, Repeat from * to * 

across to end, turn work. (42 sts)

Round3- make 1 hdc in each 42 sts across, then turn work.(42 hdc)

From Round4-Repeat and follow Round2 and Round3.

Hood Measurement Approx. form neck line = 9 inches/23 cm. Fasten off

Sew the hood top to join. Fold the hood right side facing together, and then sew with a slip st.

Slip st in each both sts together, across to end. Fasten off

Make button band of jacket:

Color B:

Round1- join color B into Right front of jacket band 1^st st of corner, right side facing of jacket,

Ch1 count, make hdc in each next 9 sts of edging front, then change color A, then make 1 hdc

Across at right front edging, then make hdc in each st across of hood, the across left front edging,

At the end change color B , then make hdc in each 10 sts of color B we worked for jacket,

 turn work.

Round2-ch1 count, make hdc in each next 9 sts, then change color A, then continue hdc in each st

Across left front of jacket, then work hdc across of hood, then make hdc in each next 4 sts of right

Front, *make button hole, ch1, skip next st, then make hdc in each next 8 sts*, repeat from * to *

3 more times for button holes, at the end change color B, then make hdc in each 10 sts across,

Turn work.

Round3- ch1 count, make hdc in each next 9 sts, then change color A, *make 1 hdc into ch-space 

of Button hole, then make hdc in each next 8 sts*, repeat from * to * across 3 more times for 

button holes,Then make hdc in each st across hood of jacket , then continue make hdc in each

 st across left front, At the end change color B, then make hdc in each 10 sts. Fasten off.

Sew 4 buttons on the pointed of left front band, we worked 4 button holes of right front of jacket.

Make sleeves of jacket:

Color B:

Make chains 7,

Round1- sc into 2^nd ch from the hook, make 1 sc in each ch across, turn work.(6 sc)

Round2- ch1, make 1 sc into back loop in each 6 sts across, turn work.(6 sc)

Round3-28: Repeat and follow the same work as we done in Rib band Round 2.

Measurement Approx.: 28 Rounds = 7 inches/18 cm

Now working into band edging:

Wright side facing of sleeves:

Round1- ch1, make 1 hdc in each st into Rib band across to end, turn work.(28 hdc)

Wrong side of sleeves,

Round2- ch1, we count st, *make sc into next st, dc into next st*, Repeat from * to *

Across to end, turn work. (28 sts)

Wrong side of sleeves:

Round3- make 1 hdc in each st across to end, turn work. (28 hdc)

Round4- Repeat and follow Round 2 of sleeves.

Change color A:

Round5- Repeat and follow Round 3 of sleeves.

Round6- Repeat and follow Round 2 of sleeves.

Round7- ch2 count st, make hdc into same st, hdc in each st across, at the end make 2 hdc into

last st, turn work. (30 hdc)

Round8- ch1, we count st, *make sc into next st, dc into next st*, Repeat from * to *

Across to end, turn work. (30 sts)

Round9-19: Repeat and follow (Round 7 & Round8).

Measurement Approx. include Rib band: 8 inches/20 cm

Now stop the increasing and continue work.

Round20- ch1, we count st, *make sc into next st, dc into next st*, Repeat from * to *

Across to end, turn work. (42 sts)

Round21- make 1 hdc in each st across to end, turn work. (42hdc)

Round22- 24: Repeat and follow (Round 20 & Round 21).fasten off

Sew the side of sleeve to join, work a needle and yarn for sewing, right side facing together, then

Sew and close the sleeve, use whip st for sewing.

Now sew the sleeves opening sts to shoulder of jacket opening. Use needle for sewing.
