Instructions:  We made new stylish crochet Collar with Pockets Sweater for Boys/Girls 4-5 years, you can be easy to change larger and smaller, we explain in details about the sizes, more explain small to adult sizes, also explain about the patterns in my video tutorial. We add one main color with contrast Grey in this sweater you can chose any of other colors according to your taste. We used DK weight wool #4 yarn with 5 mm(H) crochet hook for the project. Size of the sweater we mention below in the pattern. This pullover sweater started bottom to top, we add easy and beautiful new stitch for the pattern, it’s very easy to start, so, you can follow my other crochet ideas we mention links. hope you will like and appreciate.

changing for Sizes: you can be use smaller or larger hook to change for other sizes.

please notice: that important thing of measurement for ribbing band of jacket before starting, 

you can use any of wool and any of hook size. but we mention about little measurement for the sizes.

0-3 Months: Rib Band Size 10 inches (DK #4 Yarn with hook size 3.5mm (E) 

6-12 Months: Rib Band Size 11 inches (DK #4 Yarn with hook size 3.5mm (E) 

12-24 Months: Rib Band Size 12 inches (DK #4 Yarn with hook size 4mm (G)

Toddler & Small Child : 

1- Child 3-5 years: Rib Band Size 13 inches (DK #4 Yarn with hook size 5mm (H)

2- Child 6-8 years: Rib Band Size 14 inches (DK #4 Yarn with hook size 5.5 mm

Item to be need:

wool: Main Color:  240 Grams DK Weight  #4 yarn (16-20 = 4 inches)

Color B: 50-60 Grams DK Weight  #4 yarn (16-20 = 4 inches)

Crochet hook size:  5mm (H)

Buttons

 Size:      4-5 years Boys/Girls

Gauge:  4 stitches x 2 Rows = 1 inch

 Pattern for gauge:  

Sweater Length from shoulder to bottom Band: 15 inches/38 cm 

Sweater chest measurement Back + Fronts: 26 inches/66cm

Sleeves from under arm: 11.5 inches/29cm

Sleeves from neck to cuff: 15 inches/38 cm

 Special stitch:

1.  1-Bean Stitch( yarn over the hook and pull up a loop, yarn over again an pull up a loop

      we have 5 loops on hook, yarn over and pull throw 4 loops, then yarn over and pull throw

       2 loops), to complete a bean stitch.

      2-Long hdc stitch (yarn over the hook, insert the hook into the stitch, make a chain

Into same stitch, we have 3 loops on hook, yarn over the hook and pull all loops to make

Pullover Sweater Size 4-5 years 

Sweater Back:

Make Rib Band:

Make chains 8,

Round1- sc into 2^nd ch from the hook, make 1 sc in each ch across to end, turn work. (7 sc)

Round2- ch1 count, skip 1^st st, make 1 sc into back loop in each next 4 sts, turn work. (7 sc)

Round3-47: Repeat and Follow the same work as we worked in Round 2 of Rib Band.

Measurement of Rib Band 54 Rounds= 13 inches/33 cm

Make Sweater Body:

Now start working into edging of Rib band.

Round1- ch1 not count, make 1hdc into same st, make 1 hdc in every st across into edging of

Rib band, turn work. (47 hdc)

Round 2- ch1 not count, make long hdc (see special st) into same st, * make bean st 

(see special st)

 into next St, make long hdc (see special st) into next st*, repeat from * to * across to end,

turn work. (47 sts)

Round3- ch1 not count, make hdc into front loop same st, make 1 hdc into front loop in each st

Across to end, turn work. (47 hdc)

Round4- 15: Repeat and follow the same work as we have done in Round2 & Round3.

Measurement Approx. include Rib Band: 9 inches/23 cm

Make Sweater Arm shape and shoulder:

Round16- slip st in each 2 sts, then make make long hdc (see special st) into next st, * make 

bean st (see special st) into next St, make long hdc (see special st) into next st*, repeat

 from * to * across to end, skip leave 2 sts un-work then  turn work. (43 sts)

Round17- ch1 not count, make hdc into front loop same st, make 1 hdc into front loop in each st

Across to end, turn work. (43hdc)

Round18- ch1 not count, make long hdc (see special st) into same st, * make bean st 

(see special st) into next St, make long hdc (see special st) into next st*, repeat from * to * 

across to end, turn work. (43sts)

Round 19- 28: Repeat and follow the same work as we have done in shoulder 

 Round 17 & Round18.Fasten off

Measurement Approx. from arm shape : 6.2 inches/16 cm

Sweater Front:

Make Rib Band:

Make chains 8,

Round1- sc into 2^nd ch from the hook, make 1 sc in each ch across to end, turn work. (7 sc)

Make Sweater arm shape and shoulder:

Now divide stitches in half for left and right front shoulders and neck shape:

Mark middle of stitch, divide 23 sts for left front and 23 sts for right front.

Left front shoulder and neck shape:

Round1- slip st in each 2 sts, then make long hdc (see special st) into next st, * make bean st

 (see special st) into next St, make long hdc (see special st) into next st*, repeat from * to * across

 In each next 21 sts for left front, leave/skip next sts un-work, then turn work. (21 sts)

Round2- ch1 not count, make hdc into front loop same st, make 1 hdc into front loop in each st

Across to end, turn work. (21 hdc)

Round3- ch1 not count, make long hdc (see special st) into same st, * make bean st 

(see special st) into next St, make long hdc (see special st) into next st*, repeat from * to *

 across to end, turn work. (21 sts)

Round 4- 13: Repeat and follow the same work as we have done in left front shoulder

 Round 2 & Round3.

Measurement Approx. from arm shape : 6.2 inches/16 cm

Now make button Rib band at left front,

Work: make chains 6, sc into 2^nd ch from the hook, sc in each next 4 sts, slip st into edging of neck

 line side next 2 sts, Then turn work,(5 sc)

Row2 of button band- skip 2 slip sts, then make sc in each next 5 sts, turn work. (5 sc)

Row 3 of button band- ch1 not count make 1 sc in each 5 sts of sc, then slip st into edging of 

neck line Side next 2 sts, then turn work. (5sc)

Row4-20: repeat and follow the same work as we done in row 2 and row 3 of button Rib band.

Fasten off .

Right front shoulder and neck shape:

Round1-  Right side facing of sweater front, skip middle mark st, then join yarn into next st of right

Front, ch1 not count, make long hdc (see special st) into next st, * make bean st (see special st)

 into next St, make long hdc (see special st) into next st*, repeat from * to * across In each next 

21 sts for Right front, leave/skip last 2 sts un-work, then turn work. (21 sts)

Round2- ch1 not count, make hdc into front loop same st, make 1 hdc into front loop in each st

Across to end, turn work. (21 hdc)

Now from Round3 do and follow the same work as we have done for left front. At the end 

start to Make the front button Rib band, then fasten off

Sew both of Rib bands 5 sts to connect and attach middle of 5 sts at front of sweater.

Then sew button on the rib band. for more help watch part-1 video tutorial.

Make collar of sweater:

Sewing: Sew shoulder seems together, work slip st to join the shudders front to back right 

side facing together. Do slip st in each 12 sts to join of the shoulders.

Now start work form the corner of right front, join yarn into 1^st st, ch 1 not count, make

1 sc in each st around the neck line to the left front last st, then start work for collar band.

Row1- ch 2, sc into 2^nd ch from the hook, then slip st into next 2 sts of neck line, turn work

Row2- skip 2 slip sts, make 2 sc increase into 1^st sc st, turn work. (2 sc)

Row3- ch1 not count, make sc into next st, 2 sc increase into next st, then slip st into next 2 sts

Of neck line, turn work.(3 sc)

Row4-  skip 2 slip sts, make 2 sc increase into 1^st sc st, make 1 sc in each next 2sts, turn work. 

(4 sc)

Row5- ch1 not count, make sc in each next 3 sts, 2 sc increase into next st, then slip st into next

2 sts Of neck line, turn work.(5 sc)

Row6- skip 2 slip sts, make 2 sc increase into 1^st sc st, make 1 sc in each next 4 sts, turn work.

 (6 sc)

Row7- ch1 not count, make sc in each next 5 sts, 2 sc increase into next st, then slip st into next

2 sts Of neck line, turn work.(7sc)

Row8- skip 2 slip sts, make 2 sc increase into 1^st sc st, make 1 sc in each next 6 sts, turn work. 

(8 sc)

Row9- ch1 not count, make sc in each next 7 sts, 2 sc increase into next st, then slip st into next

2 sts Of neck line, turn work.(9sc)

Row10- skip 2 slip sts, make 2 sc increase into 1^st sc st, make 1 sc in each next 8 sts, turn work.

 (10 sc)

Row11- ch1 not count, make sc in each next 9 sts, 2 sc increase into next st, then slip st into next

2 sts Of neck line, turn work.(11 sc)

Row12- skip 2 slip sts, make 2 sc increase into 1^st sc st, make 1 sc in each next 10 sts, turn work.

 (12 sc)

Row13- ch1 not count, make sc in each next 11 sts, 2 sc increase into next st, then slip st into next

2 sts Of neck line, turn work.(13 sc)

Row14- skip 2 slip sts, make 2 sc increase into 1^st sc st, make 1 sc in each next 12 sts, turn work.

 (14 sc)

Row15- ch1 not count, make sc in each next 13 sts, 2 sc increase into next st, then slip st into next

2 sts Of neck line, turn work.(15 sc)

Row16- skip 2 slip sts, make 2 sc increase into 1^st sc st, make 1 sc in each next 14 sts, turn work. 

(16 sc)

Row17- ch1 not count, make 1 sc in each 16 sts across, then slip st into neck line back of next

 2 sts, Turn work. (16 sc)

Row 18- skip 2 slip sts, make 1 sc in each 16 sts across, turn work. (16 sc)

From Row19-33:  Do and repeat the same work around of back side neck line sts as we have 

worked in Row 17 & Row 18.

Okay in the next 17 sts of neck line right front we are going to decrease sts.

Decreasing Row1- ch1 not count, make 1 sc in each st across, make 2 sc together last

2 sts, then slip st into next 2 sts Of neck line, turn work.(15 sc)

Decreasing Row2- skip 2 slip sts, make 2 sc together, then make 1 sc in each st across, 

turn work. (14 sc)

Repeat and follow decreasing Row 1 & decreasing Row 2.

 At the end of corner last st to make slip st and finish off collar.

Make Sleeves  x 2:

Make chains 8,

Round1- sc into 2^nd ch from the hook, make 1 sc in each ch across to end, turn work. (7 sc)

Round2- ch1 count, skip 1^st st, make 1 sc into back loop in each next 4 sts, turn work. (7 sc)

Round3-25: Repeat and Follow the same work as we worked in Round 2 of Rib Band.

Measurement of Rib Band 25 Rounds= 7 inches/18 cm

Now start working into edging of Rib band.

Round1- ch1 not count, make 1hdc into same st, hdc in each next 2 sts, *make 2 hdc into next

st, make 1 hdc in each next 3 sts*, Repeat from * to * every st across into edging of Rib band,

turn work. (31 hdc)

Round 2- ch1 not count, make long hdc (see special st) into same st, * make bean st 

(see special st)  into next St, make long hdc (see special st) into next st*, repeat from * to * 

across to end, turn work. (31 sts)

Change color B:

Round3- ch1 not count, make hdc into front loop same st, make 1 hdc into front loop in each st

Across to end, turn work. (31 hdc)

Round4- Repeat Round 2 of sleeve.

Change main color:

Round5- INC- ch2 we count hdc, , make hdc into front loop same st, make 1 hdc into front loop 

in each st Across to end, make 2 hdc into last st front loop, turn work. (33 hdc)

Round6- ch1 not count, make long hdc (see special st) into same st, * make bean st 

(see special st) into next St, make long hdc (see special st) into next st*, repeat from * to *

 across to end, turn work. (33 sts)

Change color B:

Round7- 8: Repeat and follow Round5 & Round 6 of sleeve.

Change main color:

Round9-17: Repeat and follow Round5 & Round 6 of sleeve.

Round18-20 : Repeat and follow Round2 & Round 3 of sleeve. Fasten off

Measurement Approx. include Rib band: 11.5 inches/29cm

Sewing: mark middle st of sleeve shoulder side sts to the shoulder of sweater middle, right side

 facing together, then sew and attach the sleeve to the sweater shoulder. Use whip st for sewing.

Make shoulder straps:

 Work: Make chains 13, sc into 2^nd ch from the hook, make 1 sc in each ch across, turn work.

(12 sc)

Row2-3: ch1 make 1 sc in each 12 sts across, at the end of row 3, work for side edge, make 1sc,

Make dc into next st, make 1 sc into next st, and fasten off leave long tail for sewing.

Sew the straps into shoulder, then sew button on the strap other side shown on picture.

Make pocket Flaps:

Work: Make chains 11, sc into 2^nd ch from the hook, make 1 sc in each ch across, turn work.

(10 sc)

Row2-6: ch1 make 1 sc in each 12 sts across, at the end of row 3, work for side edge, make

Sc into side of edging, then make 1 sc into last of corner, work into opposite side of chains,

Make sc into next st, hdc in each next 2 sts, dc in each next 4 sts, hdc in each next 2 sts, 1 sc

Into last st of corner, then make other edging of flap, to make sc in each st across, fasten off

Sew the pocket flap the the sweater right and left front, sew button on the flap. fasten off

Weave all loose ends.
