3 Double Crochet Cluster (3-dc-cl):

Yarn over; insert hook into the indicated stitch or space, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops (2 loops remain on the hook). Repeat this process 2 more times in the same stitch. You will have 4 loops on the hook. Yarn over and draw through all 4 loops to complete the 3 Double Crochet Cluster (3-dc-cl)

 Wool: Light Weight (3 ply) which is (5 double crochet = 1 inch)

Crochet hook size:  suitable for your yarn(usually 3.00 mm or 3.5 mm)

Make chains 157 +1, Approx. measure 30”- 32” inches.

Row1- make sc into 3nd ch from the hook, sc in each ch across, turn. (sc 157)

Row2- ch2 don’t count, make dc in each 5 sts, *skip next st, make dc-cl, ch 1, dc-cl

(see special st), skip next st, make dc in each next 5 sts*, repeat from * to * across,

At the end make dc in each 5 sts, turn work.

Row3- ch1 don’t count, make SC in each st across till end, and turn work. (sc 157)

Row4- ch2 don’t count, make dc in each 5 sts, *skip next st, see special st (dc-cl, ch1, dc-cl)

one step down into middle space between cluster group, skip next st, make dc in each next

5 sts*, repeat from * to * across, at the end make dc in each 5 sts, turn work. (157 stitches)

From Row 5:

Repeat pattern Row 3 & 4 until the blanket measures 36 inches or reaches your desired

Work 1 round of single crochet evenly around all four sides.

Row3-: ch2 don’t count, dc into same st, *FP dc into next 3 dc in the 7 dc group, ch1,

Color Sequence:

Work 16 Rows in the main color, then 8 Rows in the contrast color. Repeat this color 

sequence throughout the blanket until the desired length is reached.


Finishing & Border:

Simple Border:

If you prefer a simple border, work 1 double crochet (dc) in each st along both lengthwise

edges of the blanket.

Scalloped Border:

Change to contrast color and work the border all the way around the blanket as follows:

7dc into center stitch of each 7-dc shell

1 single crochet (sc) into the dc stitch between the shells.

Fasten off and weave in all loose ends.
