"FPpuff"/Front Post Puff Stitch – Step By Step

The stitch is worked in the front post of double crochet stitch, for this tutorial we 

are working around the front post of a double crochet stitch.

Step 1 - Yarn over hook.

Step 2 - Insert your hook from right to left around the post of the stitch (going 

from front to back and then back to front).

Step 3 - Yarn over hook.

Step 4 - Pull through a loop. You will have three loops on the hook.

Step 5 - Yarn over hook.

Step 6 – again insert your hook from right to left around the post of the stitch 

(going from front to back and then back to front).

Step 7 - Yarn over hook.

Step 8 - Pull through a loop. You will have five loops on the hook.

Row3-14: Repeat Pattern Row1 and Pattern Row 2 of body cardigan front.

Now stop working front, first make pocket piece, we are going to make pockets then attach the

front panels. Then continue the same pattern.


Pockets x 2:

Work: make chains 20, sc into 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each ch across, turn. (sc 19)

Pocket Row2- ch1 not count, sc in each 19 sts, turn. (sc 19)

From Row 3-27: Repeat row 2 of pocket. Fasten off.

Sewing: mark middle 19 sts front panel. In the wrong side facing front panel, put pocket

Piece in the middle front panel, leave 16 sts, mark together pocket to the front panel, sew

and join pocket piece to the front panel, use needle for sewing. Use a mattress stitch for

sewing, start sewing from top to down, then sew and join bottom, then down to top to the 

last st, then start work from Row 15.

Sewing: sew and join shoulders seems together front panel to back panel shoulders

On both sides, put right side facing together and join shoulders with slip st or use needle 

for Sewing, use mattress stitch for sewing. After that sew and attach side seems together 

of jacket. Fasten off and weave in ends.


Make Armhole Ribbing:

work- under armhole middle st, rejoin yarn right side facing sweater, make sc around edging

Armhole, slip st join into beginning sc. (96 sc)

Start ribbing armhole, make chains 6,

Row1- make sc into 2nd ch from the hook, make sc in each next 4 chains, now we have 5 sc,

Do slip st in each next 2 sts in the sc row armhole, turn work, (sc 5)

Row2- skip the 2 sl st, sc into back loop only in the next 5 sts, (5 sc), make ch1 and turn work.

Row3- ch1 count as sc, sc in each next 4 sc into back loop only, (5 sc) attach the row of your 

ribbing to the row of sc by making a sl st into the next 2 stitches. Turn your work. (5 sc)

Row4- 96: Repeat and follow Ribbing Row 2 & Row 3.

Now sew and join row 5 sts to the last row of sc 96 row, make slip st in each 5 sts together

Ribbing armhole in the wrong side. Fasten off and weave in all ends.


Make Ribbing Button Band:

Start work from down to top.

Row1- Right side facing jacket front panel, make ch1 we count as sc, sc in each next 7 sts,

then sc across The edging front panel, then across neckline, and then across the left front

panel to the last ribbing st. Fasten off

Row2- Right side facing jacket front panel, Rejoin yarn again in the corner st, make chains 7

 for ribbing band, make sc into 2nd ch from the hook, make sc in each next 5 chains, now we

have 6 sc, Do slip st in each next 2 sts in the front panel sc row, turn work, (sc 6)

Row3- skip the 2 sl st, sc into back loop only in the next 6 sts, (6 sc), make ch1 and turn work.

Row4- ch1 count as sc, sc in each next 5 sc into back loop only, (6 sc) attach the row of your 

ribbing to the front of sc by making a sl st into the next 2 stitches. Turn your work. (6 sc)

Row5-8: Repeat and follow Row 3 & Row 4 of ribbing button band. (sc 6)

Row9 Buttonhole Row: ch1 as count sc, sc next sc, ch2, skip next 2 sc, sc into back loop
