Pattern Notes
- US crochet terminology in used.
- Ch-2 at the beginning of a round does not count as a stitch
- Blanket is worked flat in rows
- Turn your work at the end of every row.
- Change colors where desired to create the stripe effect.
- The ruffled border is added after the main blanket body is completed.
- Finished size may vary depending on your crochet tension, yarn type and hook sizes.
- From Row 4 onwards, repeat pattern Row 2 and Pattern Row 3 throughout.
- Follow the color sequence of 7 rows in the main color and 3 rows in the contrast color.
- Continue both the stitch pattern and color sequence until the blankets reach your desired length.

Make chains multiple
of 5+5+5… 100 +2 = 20 inches/ 51 cm

or bigger sizes add or less the beginning chains.
Row1- make dc
into 2nd ch from the hook, dc in each ch across, turn. (dc 101)
Pattern Row1- ch2 don’t count, make dc into same
st, *ch1, skip next st, dc into next dc st*,
Repeat from * to * across, dc into
last st, turn. (101 stitches)
Pattern Row2- ch2 don’t count. Make dc in each st
across, turn. (dc 101)
From Row 4
onwards: Repeat Pattern Row 2 and Pattern Row 3 throughout the blanket until
the desired length is reached. OR
Approximate
finished Length: Continue repeating the pattern until the blanket reaches your
desired length. The sample blanket shown measures approximately 28-30 inches ( 75
cm) long.
Color sequence:
- Work 7 rows in color A (main color).
- Then work 3 rows in Color B (contrast color)
- Continue repeating this 7-row + 3-row color sequence throughout the entire blanket.
Tip: Always
maintain the Pattern Row 2 and Pattern Row 3 repeat while changing colors
according to the sequence.
Make Blanket
Edging and Border:
Work: in the
side of blanket right side facing, rejoin yarn in the corner, make ch2 don’t count,
Dc across the
edging length from down to top. Fasten off,
Follow the
same work other side of edging blanket.
Ruffles:
Row1- make
ch2 don’t count, dc into same st, *[2 dc next st, 1 dc in next st*, repeat
From * to *
across till corner, 3dc into corner], repeat from [ to ] around blanket. Slip st.
Row2- Repeat
Row 1 of Ruffles 1 or 2 more times.
Fasten off
Make Rose Flower:
Make foundation chains 40 + 1 turning chain,
Work: ch1 don’t count, make hdc into 2nd
ch from the hook, hdc in each ch across,
(hdc 40)
Row1- ch5, dc into same st,
*skip next 2 sts, make v-st (1dc, ch2, 1dc) into next st*,
Repeat
from * to * across, turn. We have 14 v-st-spaces
Row3- ch1 don’t count, make
Work in 3 v st-space (4 dc into ch-space, sc
between middle of 2 v st – space),
Work in next 3 v st-spaces (5 dc into ch-space,
sc between middle of 2 v st – space),
Work in next 3 v st-spaces (6 dc into ch-space,
sc between middle of 2 v st – space),
Work in next 5 v st-spaces (7 dc into ch-space,
sc between middle of 2 v st – space),
Sewing: fold the flower right side facing, from smaller to bigger petals, and
then sew all petals
each together in the wrong side, attach the
flower into blanket.
Fasten off
