this gorgeous crochet ladies jacket design i have done for ladies 38-40 chest sizes, you can be easily to make other sizes larger or smaller ladies sizes, we will explain about the sizes follow size chart below

 items to be need:

350 grams Turquoise #3 Light DK weight (Gauge of wool- 5 double crochet = 1 inch) with

 Crochet hook size: 3.5 mm (E/4)

 Size:  Ladies Medium sizes 

Gauge:  5 double crochet x 2.5 Rows = 1 inch

 Length from shoulder: 26 inches/66cm

chest sizes: 38-40

US TERMS ABBREVIATIONS:

c.         crochet

ch.       chain

sc        single crochet

hdc      half double crochet

changing for Sizes: you can be use smaller or larger hook to change for other sizes.

please notice: that important thing of measurement for ribbing band of jacket before starting,

follow same pattern for ribbing and follow size chart for more sizes. 

X- small size  30-32 chest:  Rib band size- 16 inches/ 41 cm

Small size      32-34 chest:  Rib band size- 17 inches/ 43 cm

Medium size  34-36 chest:  Rib band size- 18 inches/ 46 cm

Large size      36-38 chest:  Rib band size- 19 inches/ 48 cm

X- Large size 38-40 chest:  Rib band size-  20 inches/ 52 cm

Free Pattern Ladies Cardigan Jacket X-Large size:

Ribbing:

Chains 9,

Row1- dc into 4th ch from the hook, dc in each ch across, turn. (7 dc)

Row2- ch3 count dc, dc in each next 6 sts, turn. (7 dc)

Row3-50:  Repeat and follow Row 2.

Measurement approx. 20 inches

Body of Jacket back:

Now start work edging of ribbing for jacket.

Round1- *make chains 5, skip 2 dc, make sc next st*, repeat from * to * across, at the end

Make sc, turn.  We have 25 chains-spaces

Round2- ch3 count dc, *make shell into next ch-space [follow the pattern 5 times into same

space make dc, ch3, sc post of dc],make sc into next ch-space*, Repeat from * to * across

till end, at the end make dc, turn. We have 13 shells

Round3- chains 5, skip next dc of shell make sc next dc into ch-space,*make chains 5,

skip next dc of shell, make sc next dc into ch-space, chains 5, skip next dc of same shell and

skip next dc of next shell, make sc next dc into ch-space*, repeat from * to * across,

At the end make ch 2, skip last dc of shell, make dc into last dc, turn.

Round4- ch3 count dc, skip ch2 space,*make shell into next ch-space [follow the pattern 

5 times into same space make dc, ch3, sc post of dc],make sc into next ch-space*, 

Repeat from * to * across till end, at the end skip ch2, make dc into previous row top of 

3rd ch, turn. We have 13 shells

Round5-35: Repeat and follow the pattern 2 rounds (Round 3 & Round 4)

Measurement Approx include the ribbing. 17 inches/ 43 cm

Make Armhole & Shoulder Back panel:

Round1- ch3 count dc, dc into next ch then continue dc in each ch in the next 4 ch-spaces, 

now we have 22 dc for armhole, then continue the pattern from next 5th ch 5-space,*make

shell into next ch-space [follow the pattern 5 times into same space make dc, ch3, sc post 

of dc],make sc into next ch-space*, Repeat from * to * across, at the last 4 ch-spaces

follow the same work as we did other side, make dc 22 for armhole, turn work.

Now we have left 9 shells patterns in the middle.

Round2- make slip st in each 15 dc for armhole, then make dc in each next 7 dc sts, then 

continue the patterns, ch2, skip next dc of shell make sc next dc into ch-space,*make 

chains 5, skip next dc of shell, make sc next dc into ch-space, chains 5, skip next dc of 

same shell and skip next dc of next shell, make sc next dc into ch-space*, repeat 

from * to * across,  At the end make ch2, skip last dc of shell, make dc in each next 7 dc 

sts, leave/skip 15 sts and turn work.

Round3- ch3 count dc, make dc in each next 6 dc, skip next ch2-space, *make shell into 

next ch5-space [follow The pattern 5 times into same chain-space make dc, ch3, sc post 

of dc],make sc into next ch5-space*, Repeat from * to * across till end, skip ch2-space, 

make dc in each last 7 dc sts, turn work. We have 9 shells patterns.

Round4-20: Repeat & follow armhole and shoulder patterns (Round 2 & Round 3).

Round21: ch1 not count, make sc in each ch across edging of shoulder last round. Fasten off

Measurement Approx from division armhole. 8.5 inches/ 22-24 cm

Make Left Front Panel:

Round2- ch3 count dc, *make shell into next ch-space [follow the pattern 5 times into 

same space make dc, ch3, sc post of dc],make sc into next ch-space*, Repeat from * to *

across, make dc in each next 7 sts, turn work. We have 6 shells and button band 7 dc sts,

Round3- ch3 count dc, dc in each next 6 sts, then continue the patterns, ch2, skip next 

dc of shell make sc next dc into ch-space,*make chains 5, skip next dc of shell, make sc 

next dc into ch-space, chains 5, skip next dc of same shell and skip next dc of next shell,

make sc next dc into ch-space*,repeat from * to * across,  at the end make ch2, skip last

dc of same shell and skip next dc of next shell, make sc next dc into ch-space*, Repeat 

from * to * 2 more times, at the end last shell make chains 5, sc next dc of next shell, 

ch4, skip next dc, sc next dc into ch-space, skip next dc, ch1, dc in each next 7 sts, turn work.

From Round 3-21: Repeat and follow as we worked left front panel neck and shoulder.

Finishing: sew shoulders seems together into wrong side, and then sew buttons.
