Crochet Baby Cardigan

I tried to share you a new item the baby cardigan,
In the previous post I am telling u about my new pattern cardigan or jacket. I maid it for the zero to three months baby size’s crocheted this baby cardigan to the normal worsted weight  4ply yarn ,it is used for any gauge. In this item I used a grapes color yarn, I think it is the best color for the boys. It’s very easy to wear, because in these days you have to choose very easy things for your babies to protecting him/her.

I instruct you about the pattern to easy way to crocheting it, first I made the back side and then the both sides front and left and then make the sleeves. when I completing all my parts separately, sow all the parts into the wrong side of the jacket, and then made the neckband and button band both sides, I am telling you that I used the crochet needle for the sewing ,I think it is the best way to  crochet the baby cardigan. In this pattern I used the (double crochet front and bake post)for the bands and borders, I crocheted some Rows into the pattern stitches like (dc, sc) and the next all my work I used the hdc (half double crochet) the hdc work is thick and easy. 1. first sew the shoulder together in wrong side and then sew the sleeves after that start sewing cuff to end of the bottom. use a crochet needle for sewing if you need more help write it here.

  2. I am working the right front piece. After row 26 I feel like I am at the wrong end of the piece as the unworked stitches in row 27 are at the same side as the indent for the sleeve. I have counted my rows and have definitely done 26. Surely the indent for the neck should be the opposite side of the piece than the sleeve indent?

  3. Hi Irfanullah :) I love the look of this sweater and would like to make it for charity sale. You say to use a 4 ply worsted and are using a 3mm hook. Here in the States, a 3.25mm/D hook is the closest we can get and it corresponds with superfine(1 weight) or fine(2 weight) yarn. A worsted 4 ply to us is a medium(4 weight). Is there a way for you to compare your yarn to American standard? Or maybe crochet a 2" x 2" swatch in a stated stitch of your choosing and give us the stitch and row count? Thank you for your time and consideration. I'm very excited to start this sweater. Following is a link to our Yarn Council's Measurement page:

    3. Thank you, thank you, Aamragul (major happy feet):D
I'm so sorry that you don't have the access to yarn & tools as we do. Boy, how spoiled am I when I complain that they don't have the color I want? Shame on me. :( If I had the money, I'd send you a set of hooks and yarns to try with each size. I'm sorry that I can't give you happy feet. Thank you again for the extra work to help me understand.

    5. Respect happily and immensely given. I love your work and since I just recently designed my first baby sweater, I understand the time and thought, trial and error that went into it. When I work up swatches to your specifications, I'll come back and let you know which yarn most resembles yours, yes?

    8. Hi Aamragul. I did a swatch today to try and match your gauge. The closest is #3 weight using a 3.25mm hook. The rows came out a little high but that may be due to our differences in tension. I'm so happy I found it. I'm starting this cardigan today in Bernat Softee Baby in the color Baby Baby. It's a variegated yarn in yellow, white, pink, aqua and light blue. Thank you again for your hard work. I'm excited to get started.

    9. OK! i am so happy for you that you have found same yarn to fit gauge. you should make the same booties also , and find them into the "free pattern".

    11. 80 grams each ball, 5 balls total we used for whole baby set. 3 balls you will need for only baby cardigan jacket

  4. Yes! I saw the booties and hat patterns. I'm thinking I'll do the hat. I recently spent a lot of time trying and retrying to do a pair of cowboy booties to match a cowboy hat I'd made in a day. I ended up having to make three booties because the second one came out a lot smaller than the first. :( It's turned me off to booties for a while. Happily, I've made my quota for charity with three weeks to spare. Yay! I might change my mind after the hat and try the booties but I'm yearning to make your boys' romper first. My mom's stash has some blue #4 weight yelling about being made. LOL I'm going to use a bigger hook so it'll be bigger than yours but it's for an unspecified person so that's okay. I finished a sweater before starting yours and, spur of the moment, made up a hat pattern to go with it. My first hat design. What inspires your work? Is it need (like my sweater needs a hat) or do you see a stitch and think of a way to work it into clothing or do you imagine a clothing piece and then work up a pattern to match your vision? I'm finding, that lately, my imagination thinks my skills are much better than they are. Set the bar high, right? ;)

    2. I finished the cardigan. :) I ended up using a skein and about a third. I didn't do as many pattern rows as you had. I found the sts into slsts very hard. I'm sure practice will fix the problem. I don't know if you're a member of Ravelry but the picture is posted there...Baby Baby Cardigan. Thank you so much for the beautiful pattern.

    3. P.S. Thank you for the pep talk. It's appreciated more than you know. I'm knitting my fist shaped baby hat now but then I found a stunning st called "ganchillo waves" (you can find it on YouTube) that I'd like to work into a sweater. I think the multiples of sts is going to be the vexing part. Simple top down single st yoke (boring)to the pattern after the armholes is what I'm imagining. I've also become fascinated with Fair Isle patterns. People say that Tunisian crochet can work with Fair Isle but I'm almost sure I'll end up knitting it instead. Too much in my brain. LOL I'm sure you suffer the same overloading. ;)
