Items to be need:

Wool: Medium wight #4 / DK Weight 4ply, 16-20 stitches = 4 inches)

Hook Size: 3.5mm (E/4)

Crochet needle

 Size to fit:   9-12 month’s Baby

Gauge:  4 double crochet  x 2 Rows = 1 inch

Circumference of hat =16 inches

Length form top to bottom band = 7 inches

Hook: 3.5mm (E/4)

Guage: 4 stitches =1 inches 

Special stitch:

Puff stitch (composed of loops and joined together at the top with chain) 

Puff Stitch: Yarn over insert your hook into the specified stitch/space. Yarn over and pull up a long loop. *(Yarn over and insert your hook into the same stitch/space. Yarn over again and pull up a long loop)* repeat 3 more times. Yarn over and pull through all loops on your hook

Baby Puff Stitch Beanie Hat:

70 chains for 12 months size.
80 chains for 2 -3 years, do slip stitch to join into 1^st ch,
Working into circle 70 chains.

Makeing border band.
Round1. Ch3 we count 1^st dc, 1dc in each ch around, do sl st to join into 3^rd ch. (dc 70)
Round2. Ch1 doesn’t count front post into 1^st dc. Back post into next dc, * front post next dc,
Back post next dc*, repeat from * to * around, do sl st to join into 1^st st.
Round3.ch1 doesn’t count, *make front post around front post, back post around back post*,
Repeat from * to * around, do sl st to join into 1^st st.

Add the pattern.
Round1. Ch1 doesn’t count, make *1 dc in each next 5 sts, skip next 2 sts, make (puff st, ch1,
Puff st into next st ), skip next 2 sts*,repeat from * to * around, at end last st make
Puff st, ch1, puff st, do sl st to join into 1^st dc.
Round2.ch3 we count 1^st dc, make 1dc in each next 4 dc, *make (puff st, ch1, puff st into
Middle of previous round puff st space), make 1 dc in each next 5 dc sts*, repeat
From * to * around, do sl st to join into 3^rd ch.
Round3- 7. Do and follow the same work as pattern Round2.
Round8. Ch1 doesn’t count; *into 5 dc sts make 2dc together 1 time, 1dc into next st, 2dc
together next, Make (puff st, ch1, puff st into Middle of previous round puff st space)*,
repeat from * to * around, do sl st to join into 1^st st.
Round9. Ch1 doesn’t count; make *2dc together 1 time, 1dc into next st, Make
(puff st, ch1, puff st into Middle of previous round puff st space)*, repeat from * to * around,
Do sl st to join into 1^st st.
Round10. Ch1, *2dc together 1 time, Make (puff st, ch1, puff st into Middle of previous round
puff st space)*, repeat from * to * around, Do sl st to join into 1^st st.
Round11. Ch1 doesn’t count; make 1 dc into same st, *Make (puff st, ch1, puff st into Middle
of previous round puff st space), 1 dc into next st*, repeat from * to * around,
do sl st to join into 1^st st.
Round12. Ch1, make *(puff st, ch1, puff st into Middle of previous round puff st space)*, repeat
From * to * around, do sl st into 1^st st. fasten off
Sewing. Close the top opening of hat, use whip stitch for sew the top. Make a woollen ball
Pom pom and sew on the top of hat.
