US TERMS ABBREVIATIONS:

c.         crochet

ch.       chain

sc        single crochet

hdc      half double crochet

dc.       double crochet

sts.      stitches

st.        stitch

slst.     slip stitch

 Items to be need:

 DK Light Weight 3ply Yarn  (24 stitches = 4 inches)

 Crochet hook size: 3.5 mm (E-4)

 Size:      Adult Small Size (Medium and Large sizes mention below)

Gauge:  5 double crochet  x 2.5 Row = 1 inch

 

Pattern for gauge:  

Length from neckline: 17 inches/43cm (medium size = 22 inches, large size 27 inches)

 Special stitch:       v –stitch (1 double crochet, chain 3, 1 double crochet)

                                 Shell. (7 double crochet into same space)

Shawl Pattern for Adult Small:

Make chains 80 for small Adult size. (Medium Size:100 chain), (Large Size: 120 chains)

Make a slip stitch into 1st chain to make a ring.

Working into chains ring.

Row1. Ch3 we count 1st dc, make 1 dc in each ch around, sl st to join into 3rd ch.(80)

Row2. Make 1st corner, 1st v-st (ch 6, 1dc into same st), ch3, Make 2nd v-st into same 

st (1dc, ch3, 1dc), *(ch3, skip next 4 sts, make v-st (1dc, ch3, 1dc) into next st), ch3, skip 

next 4 sts, make v-st into next st, ch3, skip next 4 sts, make v-st into next st, ch3, skip 

next 4 sts, make corner into next st (v-st, ch3,v-st into same place)*, 

repeat from * to * around, do sl st into 3rd ch to join a round, sl st into next middle of 

corner v-st.( total 4 corners + each side 3 v-stitch)

Row3. Working into corner 1st v-st, make a shell (ch3 we count 1st dc, 6dc), 1 sc into next 

ch 3, make shell 7dc into next v-st space,*1sc into next ch3, make shell 7dc into next 

v-st space,1 sc into next ch3, make shell 7dc into next v-st space, 1sc into next ch3, 

make shell 7dc into next v-st space, 1sc into next ch3, working  into next corner, make 

shell 7dc into v-st space, 1sc into nextch3, make shell 7dc into next v-st,*Repeat 

from * to * around, do sl st into 3rd ch to join a round.

Row4. Into corner 1st shell do sl st in each st of shell, do sl st into next sc, Make a 1st 

corner, 2 v-stitches into same place of sc, 1st v-st, (ch 6, 1dc into same st), ch3, make 

2nd v-st into same place (1dc, ch3, 1dc),*ch3, skip next shell and make v-st into next sc , 

ch3, v-st into next sc, ch 3, v-st into next sc, ch3, v-st into next sc, ch3, and make corner 

into next middle sc of corner, v-st, ch3,v-st into same place of corner sc st*,Repeat 

from * to * around, do sl st Into 3rd ch to join a round.

Row 5-44. For the Poncho/cap shawl pattern do and follow the same work as we have 

done in Row 3 and Row 4. or continue to yours desired length.

change colour as you want to add.

Measurement  from neckline 17 inches/43cm. 

fasten off

Make tassels around the shawl.
