This adorable easy baby ears cowl hat design in new fashion, we have the pattern of baby beanie hat from 0-3 months to 5 years explain  all sizes in details in the pattern below and also explain in the 

i hope you can easily to change the size as you want to make for all kids boys and girls. you can make it in different colors larger or smaller. we explain below in my pattern in details for all sizes and also explain in details about all sizes in my video tutorial, i always want to bring easier pattern for all them and for beginners.

Crochet Balaclava/Cowl Hat for Boys & Girls Easy pattern

Items to be need:

Wool: 70 Grams DK Wool 4ply/ Weight  #4 yarn (16-20 = 4 inches)

Crochet hook: 

0-3 months - (3.5 mm hook or US (E-4)

6-12 months- 5 mm hook or (H-8)

toddler child sizes 1-5 years - 5.50 mm hook or (I-9)

for more large todler sizes you can repeat rounds of hat band to follow measuermet

hat sizes chart.

Baby Hat Size:  6-12 months

Gauge:  4 single crochet stitches x 4 Rows = 1 inch with 5mm H-8 hook

US TERMS ABBREVIATIONS:

c.         crochet

ch.       chain

sc        single crochet

hdc      half double crochet

dc.       double crochet

sts.      stitches

st.        stitch

slst.     slip stitch

Crochet Baby Cowl Hat:

3-12 months sizes:

Make Rib band:

Color A:

Chains 5,

Row1- sc into 2^nd ch from the hook, sc in each next 3 chains, turn work. (4 sc)

Row2- ch1 count stitch, make sc into back loop in each next 3 sts, turn work. (4 sc)

Row3- 61- Repeat and follow Row2.

Measurement from Row 1-61 is = 15-16 inches

Make Body Cowl Hat:

Round1- ch1 we count, make sc edging of rib band in each row across till end, turn work.

(61 sc)

Change color:

Round2- ch1, sc into same st, *1 dc into next st,1 sc into next st*, repeat from * to * across

Till end, sc into last st, turn work. (61 stitches)

Round3- 17- Repeat and follow as we worked in Round 2 of hat.

Measurement include rib band= 7 inches/18 cm

Fold the hat in half way and close the hat back with slip st make 1 slip st in each both 

sts together.

Now hat is ready to make cowl in the bottom part of hat.

First sew the rib band 4 sts together to join the band use needle for sewing, then start the 

cowl around the neck edging of hat.

Make Cowl Hat:

Start work into the base of rib band middle st we joined together, make ch1,

Round1- ch1 sc into same st, make 2 sc in each pattern row edging hat around, do slip st

To join into ch1.turn work ( 68 sc)

Round2- ch1 we count,*make dc into next st, sc into next st*, repeat from * to *

Across till end, do slip st into begin ch1. Turn work. (68 stitches)

Round3- 10: Repeat and follow Round 2 of cowl pattern.

Measurement cowl from neck edging 4 inches/ 10 cm

For long neck cowl you can repeat more rounds the same pattern.

Fasten off

Make little ears x 2:

Color A:

Make chains 4, slip st into first ch to make small circle.

Round1- ch1 don’t count, make 8 sc into circle, slip st into first sc. (8 sc)

Round2- ch1 count sc, make sc into same st, 2 sc in each next 7 sts around,

Do slip st into begins ch1. (16 sc)

Round3- ch1 count sc, *make 2 sc next st, 1 sc into next st*, repeat from * to * around,

Do slip st into begins ch1. (24 sc)

Change color B:

Round4- ch1, make sc in each 20 sts around, then make slip st in each next 4 sts.

Fasten off leave long tail for sewing the little ears to hat.

Finishing: sew and join 4 slip stitches to hat 5^th row both corner like same points.

Leave 4 inches gap between both ears and sew on hat. Fasten off

wool full project: Light DK Weight  #3 yarn Gauge (5 stitches x 2.5 Rows = 1 inch)

Crochet hook size:  9-12 months(1 year) - 3.5 mm(E-4) 

 Buttons

 Size:      0-3 months/ 3-6 months/6-12 months

Gauge:  5 single crochet stitches x 4 Rows = 1 inch with Hook size 

(3.5 mm (E-4) hook)

 Pattern for gauge:  

Size of sole length 0-3 months:  3.5 inches/ 9 cm

Size of sole length 3-6 months: 4 inches/10cm

Size of sole length 6-12 months 4.5 inches/ 11.5 cm

0-3 Months: chains 13,

3-6 Months: chains 14,

6-12 Months: chains 16

Making Baby shoes for size 6-12 months:

Make chains 16,

Round1- make 2 dc into 4^th ch from the hook, 1 dc in each 11 chains across, 6 dc into last ch,

Work opposite side, make 1 dc in each next 11 sts, 3 dc into last st, do slip st into beginning 3^rd ch.

(34 stitches)

Round2- ch3 we count dc, 1dc into same st, 2 dc in each next 2 sts, make 1 dc in each next 11 sts,

2 dc in each st into 6 sts group of corner, work opposite side, make 1 dc in each next 11 sts,

2 dc in each last 3 sts, do slip st to join into beginning 3^rd ch. (46 stitches)

Round3- ch1 not count, 1 hdc into same st, 2 hdc into next st, *(1 hdc, 2hdc)*, repeat * to * 2 more times,

Make 1 hdc in each next 11 sts, repeat * to * 6 times into corner 12 sts, work into opposite side, make

1 hdc In each next 11 sts, repeat * to * 3 times into last 6 sts, do slip st into first hdc st. (58 stitches)

Sole ready to work the shoes, follow the same work for both shoes pattern right and left.

Make booties top:

Round1- ch1 not count, make 1 hdc into 58 sts into back loop around, do slip st into first hdc. (58 sts)

Round2-3: ch1not count, make 1 hdc in each 58 sts around, do slip st into first hdc. (58 sts)

Change colr B:

Round4- ch1, make 1 hdc in each 57 sts around, skip a ch and do slip st into first hdc. (57 sts)

Mark 22 sts at front of the toe.

Round5- ch1, make 1 hdc in each next 18 sts, make 2 dc together repeat 11 times into marked

22 sts at front of the shoe toe, then make 1 hdc in each remains sts, do slip st into first hdc.(45 sts)

Mark 24 sts at front of the toe.

Round6- ch1, make 1 hdc in each next 17 sts, make 2 dc together repeat 12 times into marked

24 sts at front of the shoe toe, then make 1 hdc in each remains sts, do slip st into first hdc.(32 sts)

Mark 8 sts at front of the toe.

Round7- ch1, make 1 hdc in each next 17 sts, make 2 dc together repeat 4 times into marked

8 sts at front of the shoe toe, then make 1 hdc in each remains sts, do slip st into first hdc.(27 sts)

Round8- ch1, make hdc in each st around, do slip st to join into first hdc. (26 sts). Fasten off

Make button flaps Right shoe:

Row1- rejoins yarn into middle st at front of the toe, make ch1 count, make 1 hdc in each st around, do

Not make slip st, make chains 10 for button flaps,

Row2 - work hdc into 3^rd ch from the hook, hdc in each Ch across the flap, then continue 1 hdc in

each st around the heel till the end, turn work

Row3- ch1 count, make 1 hdc in each st across into back of heel, then across in each st into button

Flap, at the end of the flap 5 sts, make little button hole, chains 2, skip next 2 sts, hdc in each last 3 sts

Of button flap, then turn work.

Row4- ch1 count, hdc in each next 2 sts, make 2 hdc into buttonhole space, make hdc across in each

st into flap, then continue make hdc across in each st into back of heel. Fasten off

Change color A:

Row5- rejoins into first st of heel, ch1, make hdc in each st across into back of the heel, then across in

the flap Of shoe, then finish off just like showing in the pictures.

Make button flaps Left shoe:

Row1- fist make chains 10 for button flap and join with a slip st into middle st at front of the toe,

Then make 1 hdc in each st across the heel of back till the last st, turn work.

Row2- ch1 count, make 1 hdc in each st across into back of the heel, the continue make 1 hdc

In each of the chaining button flap, turn work.

Row3- ch1 count, make hdc in each next 2 sts, chains 2 for little button hole, skip next 2 sts,

The make 1 hdc in each st across the flap, then across back of the heel, turn work.

Row4- ch1 count, make hdc across into back of the heel, then across into flap sts, at the end, make

2 hdc into buttonhole space, then make 1 hdc in each next 3 last sts, fasten off

 Change color A:

Row5- rejoins into first st of heel, ch1, make hdc in each st across into back of the heel, then across in

Items to be need:

Wool: 70 Grams DK Wool 4 ply / Medium Weight  #4 yarn (16-20 = 4 inches)

Crochet hook: 

0-3 months - (3.25 mm hook or US (D-3)

6-12 months- (3.5 mm hook or US (E-4)

12-24 months - (4mm hook or US(G-6)

toddler child sizes 1-5 years - 5 mm hook or (H-8)

Baby Hat Size:  2-5 years old 

Gauge:  4 single crochet stitches x 4 Rows = 1 inch with 5mm H-8 hook

US TERMS ABBREVIATIONS:

c.         crochet

ch.       chain

sc        single crochet

hdc      half double crochet

dc.       double crochet

sts.      stitches

Cowl hat free pattern:

2-5 years size: make chains 71 = 17-18 inches/44-46 cm

Color A:

Round1- sc into 2nd chains from the hook,1 sc in each ch across, turn work, (70 sc)

Round2- ch1 count as stitch, make 1 sc into back loop in each 70 sts across till end,

 turn work. We have 70 stitches

 Change colors for every 2 or 3 rows worked

Round3-26: Repeat Row 2. For size 2-5 years  

Continue the pattern as we worked in Round 2 of hat pattern or continue until the hat

 Measurement of other sizes as you want to make.

 Measurement of hat 26 rounds 7 inches/

 Fasten off fold in half and sew back of the hat together 70 stitches (first row stitches to last

 26 rows stitches), use a piece of yarn and yarn needle for sewing or watch the video tutorial

 

Make Rib band front of hat edging:

 Change color:

 Work:  Row 1- rejoin yarn into corner front of hat facing, make ch1, make sc in each 70 sts,

 slip st to Join into beginning ch.(70 sc)

 Row2-5: make ch1, sc in each 70 sts, do slip st into first ch. Fasten off

 Make cowl of hat:

 start work for cowl into bottom edging of hat, showing in pictures

 Row1- join yarn into base of the front border of band, rejoin same color yarn as we worked for

 Front border band, make ch1,* make 1 sc next st, 2 sc into next st*, repeat from * to * around,

 Do slip st into ch1, we have (80 sc)

 Row 2-4: ch1, sc in each st around, do slip st into ch1, (80 sc)

 Round5- ch1, turn work, make 1 sc in each st into back loop around, do slip st into ch1. 

(80 sc)

 Round 6-9: ch1, sc in each st around, do slip st into ch1.(80 sc)

 Round10:  ch1, turn work, make 1 sc in each st into back loop around, do slip st into ch1. 

(80 sc)

 Round 11-12: ch1, sc in each st around, do slip st into ch1.(80 sc)   

 Change color:

 Round 13-14:  ch1, sc in each st around, do slip st into ch1.(80 sc)   

 Finishing: make pom pom and sew on top of hat. Fasten off
