wool: DK Weight #3 OR Light Weight 3ply (5 double crochet X 2.5 Rows = 1 inch)

Special stitches:

*trtr (triple treble crochet): Yarn over hook 4 times, insert hook into next stitch and draw 

a loop (6 loops on hook), [yarn over and draw through 2 loops] 5 times.

*qtr  (quadruple treble crochet): Yarn over hook 5 times, insert hook into next and draw 

a loop (7 loops on hook), [yarn over and draw through 2 loops] 6 times.

*3 x 3 qtr cross (3 x 3 quadruple treble crochet cross): skip next 3 sts, 1 qtr in each of 

the Next 3 sts, 1 qtr in each of skipped 3 sts crossing in front of sts just made.

Pattern Instructions:

Make foundation ch: (any multiple of 6) + 2, plus 1.

Row1-  (Right side) make 1sc into 2nd ch from the hook, *1 sc in next ch*, Repeat

From * to * across to end, turn.

Row2-  ch6(counts as 1 trtr), *1 [3 x3 qtr cross] over next 6 sc*, Repeat from * to * cross to last

Sc, make 1 trtr in last sc, turn.

Row3- ch1 1 sc in trtr, * 1 sc in next qtr*, Repeat from * to* to end, make 1 sc in t-ch, turn.

Repeat Rows 2 & 3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length

 for you work.

Wool: 250 grams Light Wool 3 ply or Light yarn #3 (20 stitches = 4 inches)

Crochet hook:  3 mm /D-3

Size:      4-6 years Toddler sizes

Gauge:  5 double crochet  x 2.5 Rows = 1 inch

Length from shoulder =17-18 inches/ 43 cm

Chest size =28 inches/

Pattern:

First make flower of butterfly pattern:

Color A:

Make chains 5, slip st join into 1st ch to make a small ring.

Now working into ring.

Row1- ch3 (count as dc), 2 dc into ring, ch1, *3dc into ring, ch1*, repeat from * to* 6 

more times. Now we have total of 8 times 3dc group of clusters. 

Slip st to join into beginning 3rd ch.

Color B:

Row2- Attach color 2 in any space. [ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc] in same space as joing, *in next 

space work [3dc, ch2, 3dc]*, repeat * to * 6 more times. 

Join with slip st to into beginning 3rd ch. Fasten off

Finishing: carefully fold butterfly in half, ch15 or enough chain stitches to wrap around 

the fold for firm fit. Do not sew down yet. Fasten off a long strand for sewing.

Antennae:

Work: Chains 14. Fasten off and tie a knot on each end of chain. Pull yarn tight and cut 

close to the knot.

Butterfly Assembly:

Wrap body chains up and around the body, catching the antennae under the chian 

at the top. Use the yarn tail to sew down firmly. now butterfly is ready for keychains ring, 

now attach a keychains ring any of butterfly wings or bottom.
