Free Crochet Pattern for Baby Cardigan Jacket or Sweater| full Baby Outfit

Hello Friends and Followers! Today topic is my new project for winter crochet Baby Cardigan Coat with full set baby pants, hat and booties for 6-12 months sizes, we have done and completed full baby set for little girls new design in winter season include baby top sweater cardigan coat with shoes,pants,and hat. i hope you will love and apperciate. explain in details in the pattern below,showing step by step with the  same  video tutorial. 
you can be easily to change for all sizes as you want to make for babies larger or smaller. you can make with different colors according to your choice larger or smaller sizes for kids. we explain below in my pattern for all sizes as you want make, we mention about for all sizes in my video tutorial to give you most easier to understand the pattern.

instrutions: We use Medium weight #4 yarn or Double Knit weight wool 4ply with 4mm(G-6) crochet hook for this baby  Cardigan coat/ jacket, Size of the baby caridgan jacket 1year, we mention below in the pattern. we added shells simple stitch for the pattern, it’s very easy to start, we mention below about all sizes, next Project will come another super baby patterns. so, you can follow my other crochet ideas we mention the links below.

Wool: (400) Grams #4 Medium Weight or DK Weight 4 Ply (16-20 = 4 inches)

Hook size 4mm (G-6)

Buttons

full set Size :   6-12 Months

Pattern Gauge:  4 double crochet stitches x 2 Rows = 1 inch with Hook size 4mm (G-6)

Baby Cardigan Coat complete measurement.

coat jacket from top to bottom length: 13-14 inches/36 cm

chest size baby Cardigan/coat: 22 inches/58 cm

sleeve length from under arm to cuffs: 7 inches/18 cm

please notice: you can use any of wool and any of hook size. but we mention about little

 measurement for the sizes.

follow size chart for changing baby caot jacket:

0-3 months: chains 46, divide for(8 front/ 7shoulder/ 16back/ 7shoulder/ 8 front)

3-6 months: chains 52, divide for(9 front/ 8 shoulder/ 18 back/ 8 shoulder/ 9 front)

6-12 months: chains 60, divide for(10 front/ 10 shoulder/ 20 back/ 10 shoulder/ 10 front)

12-24 months: chains 64, divide for(11 front/ 10 shoulder/ 22 back/ 10 shoulder/ 11 front)

Baby Cardigan Jacket Free Pattern:

6-12 months: Make chains 60, divide for(10 front/ 10 shoulder/ 20 back/ 10 shoulder/ 10 front)

Row1- dc into 2nd ch form the hook, make 1 dc in each next 8 chains(Front) make v-st

Row3- repeat Row 2 of ribbing band. Fasten off

Make Jacket Collar:

Row1- Wrong side of jacket, leave button band 3 sts, rejoin yarn in next st,

Ch2 don’t count, dc into same st, skip next 2 sts , *make v-st (dc, ch2, dc) in next st,

Skip next 2 sts, make shell (5dc) in next st*, repeat from * to * across till end, dc into last st,

At the end make dc2tog in the last 2 sts, slip st into first dc. (dc 34)

Change color B:

Row4- 11: Repeat and follow Row 3 of sleeves. (dc 34)

Change color for each Row.

Row3-10: Repeat and follow pocket Row2. Fasten off leave long tail for sewing.

Sewing Pockets:

Work: first divide sts in the front panel, leave14 sts one side, mark middle 18 sts for

Pocket, put the wrong side facing, and sew the pocket piece to the jacket front panel.

Leave 14 sts, then start sewing from top to down and finish the last st to the sc row, then

Sew bottom part pocket piece to the next 17 sc sts front panel, then start sewing from 

down to Top. Secure the tail. Fasten off

Now start work in the front panel Row11.

Color A:

Row11- ch2 don’t count, make dc in each 14 dc sts, then leave next 18 sts front panel,

and neck. Fasten off

Sew shoulders:

Work: right side facing both together back panel and front panel. Sew and join

Shoulders seems together, and then join on both side left and right. Fasten off

Make Armhole Ribbing:

Row1- join yarn under arm middle st, ch1 don’t count, make sc around armhole. (sc 80)

Start work around make ribbing, chains 6 for rib band,

Row2- make sc into 2nd ch from the hook, make sc in each next 4 chains, now we have 5 sc,

Do slip st in each next 2 sc st in the sc row, turn work, (sc 5)

Row3- skip the 2 sl st, sc into back loop only next 5 sts, (5 sc), make ch1 and turn work.

Row4- ch1 count, sc in each next 4 sc into back loop only, (5 sc) attach the row of your 

ribbing to the sc row by making a sl st into the next 2 sts. of the edge armhole. 

Turn your work.

Row5- 80: Repeat and follow Row 3 & Row 4 ribbing band.

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Follow the same work in the other side of armhole as we have done.

Make Front Button Band Ribbing;

Row1- in the wrong side facing you, join yarn in the corner st front panel, ch1, sc evenly

Across the front panel button band, we have 60 sc, then make sc across the neck line, then

across back of neck line, then across the 2nd front neck line from top to down across till

end of last st of corner the front panel, don’t stop,

start working front ribbing with button holes, make chains 6,

Row2- make sc into 2nd ch from the hook, make sc in each next 4 chains, now we have 5 sc,

Do slip st in each next 2 sc st in the sc row front edging, turn work, (sc 5)

Row3- skip the 2 sl st, sc into back loop only next 5 sts, (5 sc), make ch1 and turn work.

Row4- ch1 count, sc in each next 4 sc into back loop only, (5 sc) attach the row of your 

ribbing to the sc row by making a sl st into the next 2 sts. of the edge front panel. 

Turn your work.

Row5-10 Repeat and follow Row 3 & Row 4 ribbing band.

Row11- ch1, sc next st, ch3 for button hole, skip 3 sc, sc into next st into back loop only, 

Do slip st in each next 2 sc st in the sc row front edging, turn work, (we have 5 stitches)

Row12-22: Repeat and follow Row 3 & Row 4 ribbing band.

Row23: Repeat and follow buttonhole Row 11.

Row24- 34: Repeat and follow Row 3 & Row 4 ribbing band.

Row35: Repeat and follow buttonhole Row 11.

Row36- 46: Repeat and follow Row 3 & Row 4 ribbing band.

Row47: Repeat and follow buttonhole Row 11.

Row48- 58: Repeat and follow Row 3 & Row 4 ribbing band.

Row59: Repeat and follow buttonhole Row 11. Fasten off

Now I have 5 buttonholes in the front panel. Now from here continue the pattern ribbing.

Repeat and follow Row 3 & Row 4 ribbing band. Across till end of other front panel last st.

Items to be need:

Wool: we will need 400 Grams Medium Weight #4 OR 

DK Weight  #4 yarn (16-20 = 4 inches)

Guage wool is (4 double crochet x 2 Rows  =1 inches)

Hook size: 5mm/ H-8

Free Size:   Ladies X-Small & Small Sizes

Pattern Gauge:  4 double crochet stitches x 2 Rows = 1 inch

Sweater Length: top to bottom length: 16-17 inches/42-44 cm

Sleeves Length: from shoulder to cuffs: 16-17 inches/42-44cm

changing for Sizes: you can be add chains or use smaller or Bigger hook to change 

for other sizes. 

X- small size: chains 66+1: hook size 4mm /G-6

Small size:     chains 66+ 1: hook size 5mm/ H-8

Medium size: chains 70 + 1: hook size 5mm/ H-8

Large size:     chains 74 + 1: hook size 5mm/ H-8

X- Large size: chains 78 + 1:  hook size 5mm/ H-8

Ribbed Sweater X -Small & Small Sizes Free Pattern:

Make Back Panel:

Chains 66+1,

Row1- sc into 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each next 9 sts, dc in each next 56 sts,

Turn. (66 stitches)

Row2- ch2 don’t count, make dc in each dc st into back loop only across,

Then make sc in each sc 10 sts into back loop across, turn. (66 sts)

Row3- ch1 don’t count, sc in each sc 10 sts into back loop only across, then make

Dc in each dc into back loop only across, turn work. (66 sts)

Row4-9: Repeat and follow Row 2 & Row 3.

Make Neck Ribbing:

Row10- chains 6, sc into 2nd ch, sc in each next 4 chains, then make dc in each dc

Into back loop only across, sc in each sc 10 sts into back loop across, turn.

Row11- ch1 don’t count, sc in each sc 10 sts into back loop only, then make Dc in each dc

into back loop only across, sc in each sc 5 sts into back loop only across, turn.

Row12- ch1 don’t count, sc in each 5 sc sts into back loop across, then dc in each dc into

Back loop only across, sc in each sc 10 sts into back loop only across, turn.

Row13- 30: Repeat and follow Row11 & Row 12.

Row31- ch1 don’t count, sc in each sc 10 sts into back loop only, then make Dc in each dc

into back loop only across, leave/skip  neck ribbing 5 sc then turn work. (66 sts)

Row32- 39: Repeat and follow Row 2 & Row 3. Fasten off

Make Front Panel:

Chains 66+1,

From Row1 to -39, Repeat and follow as same work we have done in the back panel.

Fasten off

Make sleeves x 2:

Chains 66+1,

Row1- slip st into 2nd ch from the hook, slip st in each next 9 sts, dc in each next 56 sts,

Turn. (66 stitches)

Row2- ch2 don’t count, make dc in each dc st into back loop only across,

Then make slip st in each slip sts 10 sts into back loop across, turn. (66 sts)

Row3- ch1 don’t count, slip st in each slip st 10 sts into back loop only across, then make

Dc in each dc into back loop only across, turn work. (66 sts)

Row4-26: Repeat and follow Row 2 & Row 3. Fasten off

Sewing Shoulders:  

work: Right side facing together front panel and Back panel, with a crochet hook 

sew and join shoulder seems together, make slip st in each st across shoulder, then 

across neck ribbing 5 sts.Work on both side then attach the sleeves.

Sew & Join Sweater and sleeves:

Work:  Right side facing fold the sleeve, start sewing from cuffs, with crochet hook make a 

slip st In each 10 sts across, then slip st across in dc sts, count sts from shoulder 

24 front panel armhole mark, and mark 24 sts armhole back panel, then Start and join 

sleeves to the armhole with a slip st in 24 sts from down to top in the armhole, then across 

in the back Panel 24 sts top to down, then

Sew and join sweater side front panel to back panel with a slip st from armhole top to 

down. Fasten off

follow the same work other side of sweater and sleeves.
