instrutions: We use Medium weight #4 yarn or Double Knit weight wool 4ply with 4mm(G-6) crochet hook for this baby sweater top Size for baby 1-2 years, we mention below in the pattern. we added shells simple stitch for the pattern, it’s very easy to start, we mention below about all sizes, next Project will come another super baby patterns. so, you can follow my other crochet ideas we mention the links below.

Items to be need:

Wool: (280 Grams #4 Medium Weight or DK Weight 4 Ply (16-20 = 4 inches)

Hook size 4mm (G-6)

Size :   12-24 Months OR 1-2 years

Pattern Gauge:  4 double crochet stitches x 2 Rows = 1 inch with Hook size 4mm (G-6)

Baby Sweater Top measurement.

Length:  from top to bottom : 16-17 inches/41-42 cm

chest size: 24 inches/61 cm

sleeve length:  from under arm to cuffs: 8-9 inches/20-22cm

please notice: you can use any of wool and any of hook size. but we mention about little

 measurement for the sizes.

follow size chart for changing baby girls sweater top:

0-3 months: chains 48 + 4, divide for(16 front/ 8 sleeve/16 back/ 8 sleeve)

3-6 months: chains 56 + 4, divide for(18 front/ 10 sleeve/ 18 back/ 10 sleeve)

6-12 months: chains 60 + 4, divide for(20 front/ 10 sleeve/ 20 back/ 10 sleeve)

12-24 months: chains 64 + 4, divide for(22 front/ 10 sleeve/ 22 back/ 10 sleeve)

3-5 years: chains 70 + 4, divide for(24 front/ 10 sleeve/ 24 back/ 10 sleeve)

6-10  years: chains 76 + 4, divide for(26 front/ 12 sleeve/ 26 back/ 12 sleeve)

Adult Small: with Hook 5mm/H-8 chains 76 + 4, divide for(26 front/ 12 sleeve/ 26 back/ 

12 sleeve) 

12-24 months OR 1-2 years Baby Girls Top Sweater Pattern:

1-2 years: Make chains 64 + 4= 68, do slip st into first ch,

divide 64 chains in 4 parts(22 front/ 10 sleeve/ 22 back/ 10 sleeve) and chains 4 for corners

Row1- make corner into same st, ch2 don’t count, (dc, ch2, dc), dc in each next 10 sts (sleeve),

Make Corner in next st(dc, ch2, dc), dc in each next 22 sts (Front), make corner in next st (dc,

ch2, dc), dc in each next 10 sts (sleeve), make corner in next st(dc, ch2, dc), dc in each next

22 sts (Back), do slip st to join into first dc in the corner, slip st in the middle space of corner.

Note. Every Row start in the middle space of corner.

Row2- make corner in middle space of corner, ch2 don’t count, (dc, ch2, dc), dc in each next

12 sts (sleeve), Make Corner in next middle space of corner (dc, ch2, dc), dc in each next 24 sts

Do slip st to join into first dc in the corner, slip st in the middle space of corner.

Now stop increasing in the chest, first make ruffles, then will start the increasing.

Make Ruffles Sweater:

Color B:

Work Row1- in the corner 1^st st start and join color b, ch2 don’t count, dc into same st, *

make 2 dc next st,1 dc into next st*, repeat in each dc across till around, do slip st into 1^st dc.

Work Row2- ch2 don’t count, 2 dc into same st, *1dc next st, 2 dc into next st*, Repeat 

from * to * till Around, do slip st into 1^st dc. Fasten off

Now stop ruffles and continue chest increasing row 8.

Color A:

under the ruffle will start row 8,

Row8- make corner in middle space of corner, ch2 don’t count, (dc, ch2, dc), dc in each next

24 sts (sleeve), Make Corner in next middle space of corner (dc, ch2, dc), dc in each next 36 sts

(Front), Make Corner in next middle space of corner (dc, ch2, dc), dc in each next 24 sts (sleeve),

Make Corner in next middle space of corner (dc, ch2, dc), dc in each next 36 sts (Back),

Do slip st to join into first dc in the corner, slip st in the middle space of corner.

Row9- make corner in middle space of corner, ch2 don’t count, (dc, ch2, dc), dc in each next

Do slip st to join into first dc in the corner,

Stop increasing in the chest, next row will join front to back. Skip/leave sleeves on both side.

Sweater Body/Skirt:

Row1- ch2 don’t count, in the corner dc make 1dc, chains 4, skip/leave sleeve sts, dc in next dc

Of corner v-st, then across dc in each st till next corner last dc of v-st (Front), skip/leave second

Sleeve sts, dc in next dc of corner v-st, then across dc in each st till next corner (Back), do slip st

Into first dc. Front dc 42, Back dc 42, and  + 8 chains in both underarm hole.

I have total 92 stitches.

Row1- ch2 don’t count, make dc in each st around, do slip st to join into 1^st dc. (dc 92)

Row3-12: Repeat and follow Row2 of sweater body.

Measurement approx. from under armhole. 6 inches/15-16 cm

Add pattern Skirt:

Color B:

Row13- make shell in the st, ch2 count, 4dc, *skip next 2 dc, make a shell (5dc) in next st*,

Repeat from * to * around, do slip st into first dc of shell. (I have 31 shells groups)

Color A:

Row14- make shell in the middle space of both shells previous, (ch2 count, 4dc),

*Make shell(5dc) in next middle space between two shells previous row*, Repeat

From * to * around, do slip st in first dc of shell. (I have 31 shells).

Color B

Row15- Repeat and follow Row 14 of skirt.

Color A:

Row16- Repeat and follow Row 14 of skirt.

Color B

Row17- Repeat and follow Row 14 of skirt.

Color A:

Row18- Repeat and follow Row 14 of skirt.

Color B

Row19- Repeat and follow Row 14 of skirt.

Color A:

Row20- Repeat and follow Row 14 of skirt. Fasten off

Make Sleeves:

Color A:

Row1- underarm middle ch join yarn, ch2 don’t count, in same st and next st make 2dc together,

In the next 2 sts make 2dc together, and one more time in next post of dc and next corner st make

2dc together, dc next middle ch of v-st in corner, then make dc in each dc around in armhole, at the

End in the post of dc and next corner st make 2dc together, do slip st in first dc. (we have 34 dc)

Row2- ch2 don’t count, make dc in each st around, do slip st into 1^st dc. (dc 34)

Row3- 10- Repeat and follow Row 2 of sleeve. (dc 34)

Add Pattern:

Color B:

Row11- make shell in the st, ch2 count, 4dc, *skip next 2 dc, make a shell (5dc) in next st*,

Repeat from * to * around, do slip st into first dc of shell. (I have 12 shell groups)

Color A:

Row12- make shell in the middle space of both shells previous, (ch2 count, 4dc),

*Make shell(5dc) in next middle space between two shells previous row*, Repeat

From * to * around, do slip st in first dc of shell. (I have 12 shells).

Color B

Row13- Repeat and follow Row 12 of sleeve.

Color A:

Row14- Repeat and follow Row 12 of sleeve.

Color B

Row15- Repeat and follow Row 12 of sleeve.

Color A:

Row16- Repeat and follow Row 12 of sleeve. Fasten off

Make edging neckline:

Work: join color A in the neckline st in the shoulder, ch1 don’t count, sc into same st,

Make picot ch3, slip st into sc st, *make sc in each next 4 sts, make picot in the st, ch3,

Slip st into sc st*, Repeat from * to * around the neck edging. Slip st. fasten off

Weave all ends.
